Concept #1
I would like to use the outline of the deer. I want to put the deforest inside of the deer and have the deer outline standing between the two contrast of green grass and desertification. One of the main concept of Life on Land is the deforestation of forest so one main logo I would like to incorporate is a tree. Animals live safely in the forest and the destruction of their habitat leads them closer to being illegally poached or injured. I support hunting conservation, ethical hunting practices, and the money raised from buying licenses and permits. I want to create the perspective of looking into the animals life.

Concept #2
Since Life on Land focuses on deforestation the main people causing the destruction are logging companies. I would like to use the picture of the excavator holding a tree but replace the log with the logger cutting a tree down. I want to put that image inside of the amazon tree trunk and make it feel like you’re looking into the soul of the tree.

Concept #3
This concept focuses on the zoonotic disease the could be spread by disturbing ecosystem. The lose of forests lead to the spread of viruses and diseases. Losing the fertility of the soil causes it to erode and hold less water creating desertification. I am combining zoonotic disease, desertification, and deforestation three main points of U.N. I would like to place the stump in the middle and have it split the desertification image. I like the image of the virus and would like to replicate into multiple big and small versions.

With the recent events surrounding Covid-19 and based on the importance of spreading awareness on zoonotic diseases I chose Concept #3. The destruction of ecosystems in the forest is linked to zoonotic diseases. Also land desertification is what’s left after the forest are logged and the soil erodes.

I Chose Concept # 3 and this was my first sketch for a poster. A tree stump is in the middle dividing the desert land and viruses on the left. A river and some tree leaves on the right with the sustainable goal name Life on Land in the bottom . I chose a quote from the United Nations Goal #15 ” Protect and Restore terrestrial ecosystems.”

I chose Concept #3 and this is my second sketch for a poster. The desert land with viruses floating around starts on the top and goes down to the middle. Meeting in the middle is a river and some tree leaves. The sustainable goal name Life on Land appears in the top right corner. I chose some information from a U.N. poster ” Zoonotic Diseases are closely interlinked with healthy ecosystems.”

I have chosen three typeface designs for the text elements Myriad Pro, American Typewriter, and Microsoft Sans Serif. I really like all three because they are neat, professional, and easy to read. The text really helps engage the customer and helps incorporate the six golden rules of layout design. I will use Microsoft Sans Serif for the primary font and use the other two as backup.
